We pride ourselves on providing the best possible excursions experience for everyone that books with us and seeing the milky way and the constellations from the base of Mount Teide (around 2,000 – 2,200 Metres depending where you are located) is probably one of the most asked for excursions that we provide.
There are a number of viewpoints available around the volcanic base of Teide, all range from around 2,000 metres altitude to over 2,200 metres and they all offer some spectacular views of the Milky Way and the constellations available in the Northern Hemisphere.
Tenerife is one of the best places in the world for stargazing and astronomy. It has clean air, dark skies and you can usually get above the clouds by driving up to Mount Teide. The observatory here records 290+ days when the sky is cloud free or only partially clouded. You’d have to be very unlucky not to see any stars here!
Tenerife attracts scientists, astronomers and stargazers alike. Teide Observatory is one of the most important in the world. Several discoveries have been made there such as the first Brown Dwarf star, named Teide-1.
